What are Discuits treats and dinners?

At Discuits, we make all of our products ourselves by hand, they are not mass produced by machines. Delicious bikkies, dried meats, dinners, café food, special occasion treats and Celebration Meatcakes, all made with love by hand here in South East Queensland, Australia. All of our products are made from simple pantry items, just like great-grandma used to make and no product contains any added salt, sugar, preservatives, flavour additives or colours.

Where are Discuits treats and dinners made?

All of our biscuits, dried meats, dinners, café food, Meatcakes and special treats are made in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.  We cater for clients and customers across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

Are Discuits products really home made, by hand?

Yes they most certainly are! Utensils in hand, we roll, cut, chop, slice, dice, shape, mix and stir all of our treats in a little kitchen surrounded by friends and family, having laughs and good chats.

Does Discuits use natural ingredients?

We believe in the food and treats we give our dogs should be good enough that it could be eaten by human parents. We crack real eggs to make the dough, use human grade meat, share the dairy with our hounds, and use veggies from the farmer’s market. Sometimes though we use pet products sourced from a local Brisbane pet treat supplier (ie liver bits) but we don’t hide it and ensure we let parents know.

How do I best to store Discuits products?

Our bikkies and dried meats should be kept sealed in their bags or transfer to an air tight container.  Keep dry and out of direct sunlight and they will last for up to a year.  Our dinners should be kept in the freezer until ready to eat and can sit in the fridge for 2-3 days before consuming.  Frozen dinners can be stored for 3 months from when we make them.  Our Meatcakes and café food can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days or if stored in the freezer for up to 3 months and will defrost nicely to enjoy later.

What is the shelf life of my Discuits treats and dinners?

As our products don’t contain any sugar, salt or preservatives, the shelf life of our bikkies is because we dry them well. We know our bikkies will last for over a year if stored in a dry cupboard, in an air tight container and out of the sunlight. Our fresh products (dinners, café food and Meatcakes) will last quite well in the freezer for 3 months. Once defrosted will last well in the fridge for approximately 3 days.

Where else can I buy Discuits?

We sell all our tasty bikkies, dinners, café snacks and special treats at the Jan Powers Farmers Markets in Manly (Brisbane Australia) on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  You can also pick up our bikkies and dried meats at the Manly Road Veterinary Hospital, The Hound Hutt (Stafford and North Lakes) and at Black Lab Coffee (all in Brisbane).

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes you certainly can make changes to your order but you have to be quick! Please call us asap after ordering if you wish to make changes/cancel (0410 135 526) at least within 24hrs of ordering. A 10% fee will apply to any refunds after this time.  If the item is a personalised order (ie a birthday Meatcake) and has already been made (which is usually no more than 2 days before the occasion) unfortunately we cannot refund or change the order. If your order is bikkies or dried meats and we have not yet packed and shipped your order I’m sure we can accommodate your change. But of course, once your order has left our kitchen, no changes/refund can be made.

What if an item is missing from my order?

When we pack your order we check each item off against the enclosed invoice. If however an item is missing from your shipment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify for you treatinfo@discuits.com.au

What payment methods are accepted?

Discuits are made in Australia so the prices listed on this website are in $AUD. Payment is accepted by direct bank transfer, Visa and Mastercard credit cards, Paypal, and over the phone/email. At this stage we don’t use Afterpay.
